3D MODEL OF HOUSE ON SAN JUAN ISLAND
This is a model of a house that overhangs a slope with a deck on 2 levels
This is a working model, so many things are still being worked on.
There is a roadway to the right of the house, so I am trying to screen the decks with full height wall extensions with circular cut outs.
This is a bird's eye view looking at the South side of the building.
This is a working model of a house that is going to be made of SIP panels (Structural Insulated Panels). There is a covered outdoor fireplace off the living room and it shares a flue. The upper deck is for the Master Bedroom on the second floor. The Lower deck is off of the Living Room..
Kitchen Make Over
BEFORE KITCHEN
AFTER KITCHEN
This is a great example of how lighting affects a kitchen remodel . We also widened the opening arch into the kitchen. Halogen Stripe Lighting was added inside the glass upper cabinets and underneath the upper cabinets to create indirect lighting that sets a warm glow to the space.
Materials: Backsplash & Counters Carrerra Marble, Cabinets inset with single shaker panel.

Kitchen Breaks Out!
This kitchen was once behind a closed door.
The Kitchen now opens up to the Dining Room and the rest of the Living Room
Here is the view that it was cut off from before. It really made a huge difference. The kitchen is now united with the rest of the space.
1980's Kitchen RE DO
Removing non-bearing walls can really help to open up a space.
When you walked up to the top of the stairs before, you were greeted by a closet, an open space for the washer dryer and a wet bar......not very welcoming for a new family.
This was the closet view from the top of the stairs- it blocked the view intot he small kitchen following......
I went to the SF Building department and looked up the "Microfiche" of the floor framing, and found that the floor joists were running the right direction in order to remove the wall between the entry hall and kitchen- they were bearing on the one wall between the kitchen and living room- so we could not remove that wall without adding a huge steel beam to support the load above.
Unfortunately, we discovered the sprinkler supply line was in the wall we wanted to remove, so that had to be re-routed into the wall we were keeping.
There were also electrical runs that had to be removed.
This was the kitchen before- it was cramped and tight with a counter- note the location of all the fixtures. We kept them all in the same location, as the basic configuration worked.
Here is the new kitchen that opens up to the entry with new wood flooring throughout.
The view from the stairs coming down.
The view from the same location as the shot of the "before" kitchen- now an island takes the place of the return peninsula.
Small Bathroom Solution
Mill Valley Basement bathroom
The Limestone tiles go all the way to the ceiling and wrap around the room.
Health Club RE-DO
Reception Area Before
Transformation into new staff office- still can see members coming in and out, but needed privacy for phone conversations is now available. New Counters for desks beyond are Quartz.
New Reception Desk is at the front of the entry to greet members.
Other side of new recepetion desk
Just finished the Reception Area Re-Do for the Scott Valley Club in Mill Valley- turned the old reception area into a staff office and moved the new reception desk to the front to greet members.
Turquoise Zinger
Afraid of Color? Ever consider what color can do?
Why not have some fun with color? This bright, open, family kitchen exudes fun.
The client chose the color on this kitchen and it fun to see how a strong color, like Turquise can transform a space. The cabinets are Cherry, the counters woodblock.
20 year old remodel comes back on the market and it still looks FABULOUS!
Hard to believe that this kitchen is 20 years old already! The Cherry cabinets, slate floors with wood borders, copper hood, brass hanging fixtures with FLW Prarie style cut outs, all look great.
